SECRET TAPE LOCATIONS:
level 1, New Jersey:
turn around as soon as you start off in this level and head towards the bridge
leading to the train station. check the ledge under the bridge and you'll find
the tape
level 2, Manhattan:
turn left as soon as you start the level and head down the road until you see
the "welcome" in front of the big glass building with the red M in the middle
of it. jump off you board and climb the ladder on the sign that says "welcome"
and you'll get the secret tape at the top
level 3, Tampa:
head to the underground parking door opposite the bank that says "florida wt
plaza" above it. next to this door you'll see 2 QP ramps. hit one of these
ramps at a 45 degree angle facing the right and hit the grind button, you'll
instantly lock on to a grind wire leading you up to 2 hidden halfpipes on a
building rooftop (keep hopping if you need to build up your speed on the rail).
between these 2 ramps on the roof there's a small gap with a QP ramp at the
back, jump down into this gap and you'll find the tape
level 4, San Diego:
this one's easy, go to the spot where you do the demo in this level (the place
with the stage) and transfer up to the roof of the walkway to the left of the
stage using the QP's near it, then air off the QP attached to the building with
the stage at the end of the walkway roof...simple!!
level 5, Hawaii:
this one's another simple one, get to the rooftop where you do the mctwist over
the helicopter. as you approach the helicopter/roof gap, you'll see a wire near
in the far right hand corner next to the small QP. hit the rail and it'll take
you straight down to the next tape
level 6, Vancouver
this one's easy to find but hard to hit. go through the hotel that you start
off next to and look up at the monument surrounded by flags, in the middle
you'll see the tape, WAY up near the top!! to hit this you need to do a spine
transfer off one of the glass buildings protecting the walkway down to the ice
hockey arena (you might also need to skitch in order to get enough speed). as
soon as you land the transfer do a boneless to get extra height of the little
kicker ramp at the top of the glass structure. if you did it right, you'll get
the tape, if not… I guess you'll just have to try again!!
level 7, Slam City Jam
this tape is the compete opposite of the last one, impossible to see but easy
to get (if you know where to look!). drop down the roll in at the start of the
level and hit one of the vert QP’s either side of the gap straight ahead of
you. do an ollie off the ramp and dismount in mid-air using the L1 + R1
buttons, doing this will make you land on the lighting walkway. follow the
walkway around until you get to the big TV screen thing and crash through the
glass to find the tape.
level 8, Moscow
this tape is definitely the hardest to get to, you’ll need to be really good
and your grind hops and have your ollie, speed and grind stats as high as you
can get them if you want to pull this one off. to get this tape you need to
follow the same combo line you have to follow in the goal “kalo’s hangover
cure”, from the entrance of the castle area head to the roof of the L-shaped
building in the far left hand corner. from there you need to gap over to the
building with the bell tower using the rail on the L-shaped building as a mini
kicker. if you ollie at the right time with enough speed you’ll transfer over
to the other building and land comfortably on the handrail of the roof. as soon
as you do this you’ll notice that near the corner where the rail curves inwards
there’s a makeshift workmen’s ledge hanging from one of the red turrets. hop
onto this ledge and grind it and it’ll direct you to another makeshift bench.
hop over to THIS one and it’ll direct you to the top of the castle/monument
thing that you can see in the intro to the level. all you have to do now is
skate to the end of the platform and you’ll find the final tape!! phew!!! good
luck!!!!!
Level 9, Hotter than Hell
congrats on getting this far in the game, only 1 more video to go, and you’ll
be glad to hear its not as hard as the last one!! enter the side door to the
right below the main stage to transport you up to the metal walkway, turn
around and you’ll see the tape suspended in mid-air. to grab it, all you have
to do is bonless at the point where the walkway is steepest. this should give
you enough height to grab the tape, that’s all of them!!
Unlockables
3 tapes = bails video 1
6 tapes = bails video 2
all tapes = Always hard video (hard to unlock but well worth it!!
HIDDEN LEVELS
You’ll only find these secret icons in certain levels to unlock some of the
level from THPS2, normally their really well hidden or really hard to get to,
so we thought we’d save you the bother…enjoy!!
Secret level 1: the school II
Location of icon: New jersey
head to the very end of the level, over the bridge and down the long road till
you reach the last roundabout. from her use the QP to your left on the wall to
air up and grind round to the roof/shelter of the community hospital. ollie out
of you grind and onto the shelter roof, then dismount form your board. from
here you’ll notice a higher ledge around the edge of the roof leading into the
train station. jump onto this ledge, follow it around into the train station
and you’ll find the icon. The school is now yours!
secret level 2: Venice beach
location of Icon: Hawaii
This one gets irritating after a while. as soon as you start off head to the
road and follow it around until you see a smoking tiki statue holding a sign
that says “evil”. (it should be at the corner next to the QP which has the
50:50 logo on it ) Jump into his mouth and you’ll be transported into this
weird tunnel place and at the end of it you’ll see the icon, actually getting
it is all down to timing your ollie right. After you eventually hit it, the
home of the magic bum is yours!
secret level 3: The Hangar
location of icon: Moscow
you’ll find this icon by wallriding then grinding the side of the Lenin’s
monument closest to the door to the main area that's closed off to begin with.
grind in the direction of the red building andhop into the window, in there
you’ll find a secret grind rail leading straight through to the other side
ofthe bullding. Go back into the secret area and you’ll find the icon (plus a
really cool picture!)
